Imaging of hard x-ray radiations using Gafchromic™ dosimetry film in Damavand tokamak

In the present study, a series of experiments were performed to study collisions runaway electrons in Damavand tokamak by imaging hard x-ray radiations, as one secondary effects these electrons, using radiochromic films. For experiments, GAFCHROMIC™EBT2 dosimetry films selected due their high resolution capability. These instruments installed two strip and screen structures for one- two-dimensional high-dose areas tokamak, after irradiation on device, recorded data extracted flatbed scanner. The results showed that discharges if active plasma position control system is off, predominant collision column occurs with outer wall vacuum chamber. Also, images indicated dimensions temporary sources x-rays are about 10 cm × cm. Two-dimensional toroidal field coils exposed significant making use radiation-sensitive diagnostic systems this area questionable. obtained from measurements also highest radiation dose limiter region reaches up 300 mSv shot−1.
